Our business model is circular in nature
Reducing, reusing, and recycling tyres is key to our business operations, but it is not the extent of what we do. We understand that it is our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen that is guided by integrity. In 2021, we joined the UN Global Compact to contribute to the global effort to address the many environmental, social, and economic challenges facing the world today. Guided
by the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), we know that it is in the best interest of our company to contribute to the global goals and to be part of the solution. When
it comes to the environment, through our everyday business operations and our #SustainableThinking focused decisions, we are whole-heartedly invested in and committed to building a responsible business and taking care of our planet for future generations.
As a leading retreader, we are committed to continuously improve processes with aim of delivering products at the highest level of quality and safety, for our customers. Our Vaculug team of specialised retreading experts play a pivotal role in driving innovation and R&D initiatives that improve and advance our manufacturing processes and products, not only for our company but for the industry. To ensure we remain on the leading edge of retreading, we are investing in the latest manufacturing technology. We are equally investing in leveraging the most advanced technology and software for our fleet management systems to ensure we deliver optimal service and peace of mind to our customers.
Our approach to embracing innovation and technology is what has built our company and positioned it as the industry-leader that it is today, and it is what will continue to pave the way forward and lead us towards a more sustainable and prosperous future going forward.
These are our Vaculug core values
Guided by these values we are shifting away from approaching our ESG focused initiatives as activities that are peripheral to our business and moving towards integrating them into our core business strategy. Looking ahead and as we continue this journey towards sustainable transformation, we are committed to living our values and engaging our stakeholders along the way.
A past and future driven by innovation
Tyre manufacturing has come a long way since the first iron and leather tyres were designed and fitted onto wagons as far back as the 16th century. The 17th century saw the introduction of the rubber tyre as we know it today. Reinventing the wheel through innovative R&D processes is something we are very familiar with at Vaculug. With a more than 70-year history that dates back to the 1950’s, innovation has always been at the heart of our company’s sustained growth.
